{"id":32010,"date":"2024-02-29T11:55:27","date_gmt":"2024-02-29T10:55:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.teoresigroup.com\/?p=32010"},"modified":"2024-02-29T11:57:04","modified_gmt":"2024-02-29T10:57:04","slug":"the-future-of-connectivity-in-turin-teoresi-among-the-european-partners-of-the-envelope-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.teoresigroup.com\/de\/news\/the-future-of-connectivity-in-turin-teoresi-among-the-european-partners-of-the-envelope-project\/","title":{"rendered":"The future of connectivity in Turin: Teoresi among the European partners of the ENVELOPE project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns row align-center row sezione\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column column small-12 medium-10 large-8\">\n<p>Teoresi embraces the challenge launched by the <a href=\"https:\/\/commission.europa.eu\/index_it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">European Commission<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/smart-networks.europa.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU)<\/a> under <a href=\"https:\/\/horizoneurope.apre.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Horizon Europe<\/a>, one of the broadest transnational research and innovation programs for the period 2021-2027, with a total budget of 95.5 billion euros.<br>In Italy, we will be among the key actors in the ENVELOPE project alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/linksfoundation.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fondazione LINKS<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.torinocitylab.it\/it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Torino City Lab<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/athonet.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Athonet (HPE)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tim.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tim<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nextworks.it\/it\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nextworks<\/a>. The project aims to develop experimental platforms and extensively test 5G and 6G services in the realm of mobility and connected intelligent infrastructures, promoting their dissemination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this new journey towards the smart cities of the future, we will contribute our consolidated experience in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teoresigroup.com\/de\/insight\/smart-mobility\/\">smart mobility<\/a> sector and provide two of our prototypes of autonomous and connected vehicles, results of our research in recent years. Concurrently, we will also be involved in the development and evaluation of tests on 5G and 6G circuits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Our involvement in the project\u2019s activities<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The initial activities will focus on updating our prototypes with <strong>new sensors and connectivity functions<\/strong> to enable vehicles to cooperate with each other and with the road infrastructure. This will be followed by testing activities in secure public spaces provided by the City of Turin, and data collection for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>creating maps of the surrounding environment;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>real-time reconstruction of the dynamics of any accidents;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>providing information to the road infrastructure (presence of obstacles on the route, traffic blockages, or accidents).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, the activities will include the creation of an <strong>edge computing infrastructure<\/strong>, enabling the analysis and management of collected data directly on vehicles, minimizing dependence on remote data centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8222;<em>Connectivity is the keyword for our cities of the future, where new technologies will enable a new type of mobility, changing our lifestyle. That&#8217;s why Teoresi, after designing the prototype of an autonomous city car, is now working to develop the new infrastructure system with the latest 5G technology in the European ENVELOPE project.
