Starting from April 22, the DAISI&RON project enters a new phase: the assistive robot TEO begins its testing in the Anatomy laboratories of the University of Turin. Here, robotics and artificial intelligence are tested in real-world environments to develop new solutions supporting the cognitive functions of older adults.
A European project for cognitive health
DAISI&RON is part of ANTHEM – AdvaNced Technology for Human-centEred Medicine, funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research within the National Complementary Plan. The project is coordinated by the Department of Neuroscience “Rita Levi Montalcini” of the University of Turin, with contributions from Teoresi Group, Intravides Srl, and NICO – Neuroscience Institute Cavalieri Ottolenghi.
In this context, TEO represents the connection between technology and everyday life.
Developed by Teoresi, the robot is designed to move autonomously, interact through voice, and safely support people in their daily activities. After an initial testing phase within company environments, TEO now enters an advanced research setting to validate its functionalities in more complex scenarios.
Digital tools for cognitive support
The system developed within DAISI&RON integrates the robot with a digital platform offering interactive cognitive exercises, designed to stimulate memory, language, and motor functions.
The collected data are processed to support caregivers, helping make assistance more accessible and personalized. This phase represents a concrete step toward developing scalable models, with a strong focus on social impact and sustainability. With DAISI&RON, Teoresi continues to promote a human-centered approach to innovation, where technology supports people rather than replacing them.
