From 16 to 19 November, Teoresi MedTech will be in Düsseldorf for MEDICA 2026, one of the leading international events dedicated to medical technology and digital health.
At Hall 12, Stand C75, we will showcase three projects demonstrating how sensors, embedded electronics, connectivity and artificial intelligence can bring data collection and processing closer to patients and to the point of clinical decision-making.
Multi-sensor wearables for remote monitoring
The first project is a multi-sensor wearable device designed for the remote, multiparameter monitoring of complex patients with multiple conditions, within a Hub-and-Spoke care model.
The system combines the wearable device with a patient app and an Internet of Medical Things platform for physicians and healthcare professionals. Its architecture supports local data processing, including AI-based processing, and wireless connectivity in a low-power system.
The goal is to collect interpretable information and integrate it into a care pathway that encompasses acquisition quality, secure transmission, data review and validation.
Tap&Sense for contactless in vitro diagnostics
Tap&Sense is a smart contactless sensor for multi-channel electrochemical measurements in in vitro diagnostic applications.
The solution integrates NFC support, an analogue front end and processing capabilities directly into the single-use device. Contactless interaction simplifies operation and improves the measurement process, bringing together expertise in IVD systems, sensors, embedded electronics and connectivity.
The project is developed in line with the requirements applicable to in vitro diagnostics and the European IVDR.
Edge AI to assess PPG signal quality
The third project applies Edge AI to the real-time analysis of photoplethysmographic signals, or PPG signals, which are used in wearables to detect changes in blood volume and derive physiological parameters.
Signal quality also depends on the contact between the sensor and the skin. The solution recognises three different contact conditions: optimal, insufficient or excessive pressure, processing the data directly on the device.
This approach provides immediate feedback, helps users wear the device correctly, limits the transmission of unusable data and reduces dependence on the cloud.
On-device processing and cloud computing are not alternatives, but complementary components of the same architecture.
Edge AI can immediately check, filter or classify the signal. Cloud platforms, in turn, can integrate data over time, make it available to healthcare professionals and support broader analyses.
Deciding where to process each piece of information depends on latency, power consumption, connectivity, cybersecurity, privacy and clinical purpose. The system must therefore be designed as a single ecosystem, from the sensor to the interfaces used by patients and healthcare professionals.
