Designing Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) requires a different approach, from writing firmware or software: it implies a hardware-oriented mindset and requires a solid understanding of the structure of the devices involved, related issues, tools, and processes that turn code into a device configuration file.

In HiFuture, we have extensive experience in FPGA design in various contexts and markets. We take on entire projects or specific phases and support the client throughout the design lifecycle, including requirement definition, architecture definition and implementation, documentation phase, and verification and validation activities.

Thanks to numerous projects in the aerospace & defense sector, we can support and flank the client in the DO254 certification process, providing the necessary support for drafting plans, standards, and overall document management.

Firmware goes beyond the concept of traditional software. Its close interaction with hardware, low-level driver management, and real-time requirements make firmware design a discipline that requires extreme attention and detailed expertise.

We design firmware starting from elementary architectures, generally without an operating system, and then move on to more complex solutions, typically based on embedded Linux or VxWorks.

We handle the writing of peripheral drivers, tailor distributions, configure development environments, kernels, and specific applications. Our software is mainly embedded, machine, or mobile device. We also design on PC, Linux, or Windows, always in support of basic electronics applications.

We start from client specifications, which can concern both the product and development aspects, and then integrate languages, libraries, and any proprietary operating systems. Furthermore, we can transform simple guidelines into detailed technical specifications, developing architectures and creating products with the most suitable tools to meet the needs of each application.

We design and implement test solutions to meet the needs of clients throughout the lifecycle of their projects: in the initial stages of device debugging and integration, during verification and validation activities, and in production.

The systems we develop offer a high level of integration and flexibility, adapting agilely to the phase of the cycle in which they are used. Our solutions are mainly based on the use of National Instruments tools closely integrated with the test management application, generally built on LabView or TestStand. Depending on the specific needs of each application, all the elements useful for implementing the necessary test functions are subsequently added.

In providing systems for managing verification and validation activities, we are committed to providing data and reports under requirements, ensuring the objectivity of the verifications performed.

We know the importance of designing a device that will go into production. This means approaching the project considering from the beginning the aspects that will impact its actual realization: cost compliance, component availability, testability, maintainability, reliability, and long-term support.

Design for Manufacturing (DFM) precisely involves an analysis activity that leads to the definition of project specifications that include all the requirements needed to ensure the producibility of the system.

In HiFuture, we offer support to clients in the testing process, providing control systems for verification and validation phases, along with test machines for production or for performing sample checks.

As a solution provider, we conduct integration activities by providing systems that include components from our clients, third parties, or, if necessary, developed internally.

We manage system realization following lifecycles similar to those of hardware or software projects, performing necessary compliance tests and releasing systems complete with documentation sets. We also assess feasibility and develop special systems that are not available on the market.
