Six ways to envision the future, many of which are not far from the reality we are already experiencing. Six ways to imagine how the places where we currently work, meet, showcase our skills, and where our profession finds new modes of expression could undergo transformation.
We are talking about the “generations” of winners of the Teoresi Dream Workplace contest by Teoresi Group. In December, all colleagues were invited to use their favorite generative text-to-image AI tool to create a representation of the ideal workplace where their dreams, both professional and personal, could take shape without restrictions.
The creative process and the jury
The contest, launched on the company’s internal communication channels, provided an opportunity for all participants to express their creativity. The result was imaginative proposals evaluated by a mixed jury composed of Teoresi Group’s Corporate Development Office, four members of the creative community ICONA (Italian Community of New Arts), and one of the founders of AI/CC.
The criteria leading to the selection of the six winning works reflect Teoresi Group’s clear commitment: in addition to originality in conceptual representation and graphic style applied for composition, particular attention was given to inclusivity, the appreciation of diversity, and commitment to environmental sustainability.
The winning works: six images that tell unique stories
The six winning works, chosen for their originality, relevance to the proposed themes, and mastery in using AI tools, offer unique visions of the future office.
Environments within space stations where nature thrives, open spaces fostering the exchange of multicultural knowledge and adapting to the needs of those who use them, illuminated by natural light and recycled materials, or floating semi-spheres where futuristic modernity and well-being coexist in new compositions. Urban context has also been depicted: nature plays a central role in enhancing productivity and sociability, sustainable object design harmonizes with architectural design.
Lastly, on a paradisiacal island, a high-tech meeting room is animated by various living beings where technology, sustainability, and diversity blend harmoniously.
A journey of engagement and awareness
The Dream Workplace contest is part of a broader journey Teoresi embarked on in 2023 to facilitate discussions in the company on universally relevant topics. From workshops dedicated to raising awareness about D&I issues using AI-generated biases as an element for thought, to the promotion of Alessandro Ossola’s central message during Connection Day 2023; to the publication, in 2023, of the first Sustainability Report, reflecting the company’s constant attention to its social impact.
In recent months, Teoresi has collaborated with the Esserci and Cartiera cooperatives on circular economy projects that resulted in gifts for employees and customers thus promoting the value of recycling by transforming the materials used in the events of 2022 into new design objects, instilling a reflection on the importance of a “second chance.”
Creativity among our values
To make one of Teoresi’s core values, “Engineering through Creativity“, even more tangible, the winners of the Teoresi Dream Workplace contest will be awarded participation in a workshop conducted by AI/CC members, that will reveal all the potentials of Midjourney in its infinite applications.
Understanding technologies and looking at them with awareness is an essential starting point in Teoresi’s applied approach, so it is important to add to the skills the ability to interpret every project through the power of imagination and creativity, infinitely expanding its potential.

Known as “whistleblowing,” referring to the act of a referee signaling a foul during a game, it has a similar significance in the corporate world. In business, whistleblowing represents a protected channel for reporting unethical or improper behavior within an organization. Teoresi, too, has a whistleblowing policy supported by a dedicated digital platform for collecting such reports. Guido Garelli, Teoresi Legal Counsel, delved into some aspects with us.
What is whistleblowing and what purpose does it serve?
Whistleblowing involves the voluntary reporting by an employee or any other stakeholder as outlined by the EU Directive, of illicit or irregular behavior witnessed within the organization that could harm the community. A famous example is Sherron Watkins, former Vice President of Enron Corporation: in 2002 her whistleblowing actions led to the discovery of irregularities in the company’s financial statements.
The ultimate goal of whistleblowing is to prevent and counteract fraud, corruption, violations to regulation and to Code of Ethics, and promote transparency and corporate ethics.
What whistleblowing systems has Teoresi adopted to counter unethical behavior?
Teoresi has implemented a specific Whistleblowing Policy that regulates the entire reporting process, in compliance with Decree Law No. 24 of March 10, 2023. This policy defines channels for reporting, the scope of reporting, involved parties, and manages conflicts of interest.
It also establishes protections for the whistleblower, the reported party, and all other involved parties, ensuring confidentiality, protection from retaliation, and limitations of liability under certain circumstances.
How does Teoresi ensure the confidentiality of reports during the investigation process?
Teoresi’s dedicated digital platform for managing reports, besides allowing submissions in both English and Italian and guarantee anonymity if chosen by the reporter, ensures continuity in communications between the whistleblower and the Ethics Committee and the Supervisory Body responsible for managing reports. The platform employs all necessary technical security measures to meet confidentiality and personal data minimization requirements mandated by the decree. End-to-end encryption prevents unauthorized access or modification of data, and the system only collects essential data, retained solely for the duration of the investigation.
Why is adopting a whistleblowing system important for Teoresi?
In our commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards, ethics and transparency are essential pillars of our growing Group. The whistleblowing system is a powerful tool that not only helps identify and rectify potential issues before they escalate but also represents a proactive approach to safeguarding Teoresi’s integrity.
It’s not just a corrective action; it’s a vehicle to consolidate a corporate culture that promotes transparency, integrity, and mutual respect, fostering an atmosphere of trust and responsibility and encouraging the adoption of new proactive actions.

WAITING FOR MEDICA: An Interview with Federico Cursano, Life Sciences Industry Manager.
How has the life sciences sector evolved at Teoresi?
Between 2016 and 2017, we began exploring the Life Sciences sector. Subsequently, Teoresi made a significant investment in the NANOCAN project: an innovative device capable of performing biopsies, spectroscopy, and controlled drug release in situ with extreme precision. This initiative, which also involved important academic and healthcare institutions, enhanced our specific expertise and garnered significant interest from the sector. It was a natural progression to increase our focus on the medical field, in perfect alignment with the company’s vision of “Engineering for human life”.
What have been the most significant milestones achieved so far?
In 2022, we established an internal unit devoted to this sector, and by the start of 2023, it had evolved into the creation of a dedicated sales team. And to cap it off (though it’s only the beginning!), in September 2023, we acquired MediCon Ingegneria, an Italian company with extensive expertise in the research, design, and development of digital electronic systems, as well as the certification of medical devices. This acquisition now enables us to genuinely position ourselves as a comprehensive partner in the Life Sciences industry.
What was your approach to the role of Life Sciences Industry Manager? Tell us about it.
Initially, I analyzed Life Sciences market trends at both macro and micro levels, identifying opportunities for Teoresi’s intervention. Leveraging technical expertise from other sectors, I developed a specific commercial offering. It was validated through meetings with potential clients and partners, enabling continuous improvement. My focus spanned diagnostic and therapeutic devices, imaging, digital health, and radioisotope containment. I also promoted collaboration among Teoresi departments, including Innovation and Marketing.
What do you expect from Medica?
From Medica 2023, I expect to consolidate and expand our network of knowledge and relationships, increase the number of leads through our booth, and position Teoresi as a standout in the Life Sciences sector. I am confident that the co-exhibition of our demos and solutions with Medicon Ingegneria will be crucial in conveying to potential clients that our offering is now comprehensive, from concept to production.
The Role of Medicon Engineering: Insights with Guido Comai, Chief Technology Officer.
How does CHIARA, one of the devices available at our booth, work, and what sets it apart?
CHIARA is a device for extracorporeal blood ultrafiltration. It was designed for the treatment of acute and chronic congestive heart failure (CHF) and, more generally, for any condition that requires fluid removal from the blood. It is a medically certified device according to the latest European regulations, but it is also a technological platform available to our customers for the development of new devices and therapies.
What other devices will be showcased at the fair?
It will be possible to delve deeper into the functioning of the Extracorporeal Blood Treatment Subsystems, which is essentially a demonstrator of our extracorporeal circulation technologies. This includes components such as peristaltic and syringe pumps, ultra-silent electro-pincers, and sensors for non-invasive and air-free blood parameter measurement. With these components, fully revealed in all their mechanical and electronic aspects, we can assemble devices for various types of blood treatments, such as apheresis, hemoperfusion, and ECCO2R. All of this is available to our customers, enabling them to collaborate with us in creating the specific device they aim to develop, thereby accelerating their time to market.
Since Medicon Ingegneria has previously participated in MEDICA, what can you tell us about this event?
Participating in Medica enables us to showcase our offerings to a wide audience, fostering valuable connections for business growth. This experience has significantly impacted our Company by strengthening relationships with key stakeholders and enhancing our team’s international identity.
The time has come to meet in Düsseldorf from November 13 to 16 at our booth F21, Hall H12.

In an already vibrant autumn in terms of M&A activities, Teoresi Group announces today, October 17, 2023, the successful completion of the acquisition of 100% shares of Io.T Solutions, a company in which Teoresi had previously played the role of an angel investor.
Io.T Solutions is a Milan-based company specializing in smart building technologies and solutions to enhance work comfort, optimize building management, and reduce energy consumption.
This new acquisition aligns with Teoresi’s strategy to expand in the smart city market, allowing the Group to extend its expertise from sustainable mobility technologies to specific solutions for intelligent buildings.
In particular, thanks to DINA – Connecting Spaces, the software platform dedicated to facility managers. It is possible to monitor and analyze data on building energy consumption and people flows to optimize resources, access to spaces and services provided within.
With this acquisition, Teoresi gains a valuable asset that enriches its portfolio of proprietary solutions to implement and offer to the market and customers.
The integration of Io.T Solutions is part of a rapid external growth process that, since 2023, has been contributing to the expansion of Teoresi’s expertise in strategic and socially impactful sectors (medtech, connected mobility, smart factory), as well as in cloud and software development.

Last June marked the launch of the first edition of the Innovation Hack Award: a call for ideas conceived by Teoresi’s Innovation team aimed at all colleagues within the Group. Participants were invited to form teams and choose an area of interest among the main markets where our Company operates, including Smart Mobility, Agritech, Fintech, Smart Home, and Life Sciences. They were also encouraged to explore broader themes related to cutting-edge technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, Robotics, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and Blockchain.
THE CHALLENGE?
To think innovatively and originally about solving a problem or improving a process. The contest took place over the summer months and led to the selection of three proposals in September by an internal technical committee composed of representatives with diverse and cross-disciplinary expertise.
The three finalist teams were selected based on technical criteria, including project feasibility, level of technological maturity, and the degree of innovation in the solution. At the same time, marketing aspects were taken into account, such as the idea’s market value, alignment with Teoresi’s vision and business model, the ability to meet customer needs, as well as organizational aspects and project sustainability from the prototyping phase to the market launch.
On October 7th, at Palacongressi Rimini, the finalists competed on the grand stage of Connection Day 2023 to present their projects through an elevator pitch: ideas condensed into a short speech designed to capture the audience’s attention in the time it takes for an elevator ride. In its concept, the elevator pitch is precisely that short intervention that can change your life and provide an extraordinary opportunity. With this approach, the finalist teams prepared for their seven minutes in the limelight! At the end of the time, two additional juries, one external, composed of professionals from the research and industry world and the other represented by all the colleagues present at the event, evaluated the proposals to determine the winner.
The Spotless Mind team, with the project MEET ME IN MONTAUK, gathered the highest score based on the average votes given by the two juries.
The proposal develops a solution targeting the Life Science sector using Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality. This solution would allow, particularly elderly people or individuals facing amnesia due to degenerative or temporary situations to preserve and relive their memories.
Virtual reality can enable a more immersive reliving of memories, while AI is tasked with managing the initial information flow, customization of the therapeutic session, and analysis of patient feedback.
WHAT HAPPENS NOW?
In the coming months, the winning team, in addition to the trophy received on stage, will be supported by Teoresi in terms of financial and organizational resources. Furthermore, each team member will receive a personal award for their commitment and involvement over the months.
This initiative fits into the broader context of Teoresi’s vision towards talents within the company, promoting the spread of a creative approach to the ideation of cutting-edge technological solutions, and encouraging taking advantage of cross-disciplinary influences from various fields, not only related to the scientific domain.
Meet Me in Montauk represents an excellent synthesis of this approach, in line with Teoresi’s mission of “engineering for human life.”
Congratulations to the winning team and to all participants in the first edition of the Innovation Hack Award.
The dream continues and remember that the next edition of the contest is just around the corner!
“For us, the Innovation Hack Award and the ideation process of Meet Me in Montauk, besides being an opportunity to challenge ourselves, represented a moment to think outside the box, making our passions the project’s primary need and a way to express our know-how and personalities. Taking up the theme of Connection Day 2023, we started with a dream and, step by step, contextualized it, we saw it materialize into a well-structured solution, where every technology finds its specific place. Our driving force? Ambition and dedication.”
